I have moved to Port de Paix Haiti! Ministry update!

 Hey!

I want to update you guys on how the past month has been involving the move and settling into the new house.

We left Saint-Marc on February 3rd and on the way here to Port of Peace we ran into a roadblock of sorts. We ran out of gas right in the middle of the road where a construction crew was working, and while waiting for gas all the workers came over and started chatting with us. They said we had to move the car out of the way so they helped us push the big truck a ways down the road. That was kind of fun!

Later when we got to the new house our landlord and some of her employees warmly greeted us and after unloading the truck, she gave us food! It didnt stop there; she brought us breakfast the next day too. We then, though fatigued, unpacked and organized the whole house. This took a couple weeks and if I’m being honest those few weeks really did me in.

As we finished making the house more livable, we started more long term work and I was put in charge of the kitchen. This was hard too as I didn't know my way around the city and many times couldn't find all the ingredients required for that day.

On the ministry side of things we started going door to door and invited people to all our individual small groups. This past week Louis actually had his first small group meeting and that was cool for me to see how God worked through that. it also made me excited for the rest of the small groups to begin. In April I'll be starting a dance group and I can't wait to see how God works through the youth there!

I ask that you please keep the young people of Haiti in your prayers, and that those coming to our campus would be so blessed and encouraged!

Mesi(thanks), Mica !

Is God calling you to be a mission partner?

 Hello my friends!

I want to thank God and you foryour support. I could see my life changing during my Discipleship Training School with YWAM Saint Marc, Haiti. I was able to see the power of God, learn about who He is, and His character. I learned a lot about hearing his voice and walking in his will. While in the school, God called me to come and join YWAM Port of Peace base to learn more aboutHim while serving with the base, and walk in their vision and goal. Theirvision is ''Be That Make”, meaning that weare intentionally seeking to recreate the identity we have in Christ in others. The Lord called me to be involved in different kinds of ministries, including dance ministry and small groups. For me to be a part of this new work, I need your prayer and support for all these tasks. Through these ministries, our communities will be transformed, the same way God did it for me. I want to see transformation in the life of other youth. I have made a 2 years commitment to the current base. As a missionary I will be working on support and partnership of those God sends my way. Which means I will be raising funds to sustain my self and pay my staff fees. These are $300 per month. I would like to invite you to prayerfully consider partnering with me in the mission God has called me too in Haiti. There are two ways you do this:

The first way would be through prayer! If you are interested in partnering with me in prayer, these are something you can be praying for.
  • I want to do a school of dance one day! This will allow me to have more training to teach the youth. Pray for God's timing in this. And for strength and finances to pay for my expenses.
  • That God will continue to provide financial partners to help me live out my calling.
  • For a team of prayer warriors who believe in what God is doing in my life and for his glory. A team of people like you, who will stand up for me in prayer and together fight the battles that I face on the mission field. Along with praising God and celebrating the victories with me.
The second way would be through finical support! Like I mentioned earlier all staff with YWAM Port of Peace are responsible to raise all the support necessary. This is a $300 monthly budget that covers basic living needs and staff fees. If you feel the Lord leading you to partner with me finically please contact me.

up date of my next steps

Hello! I would love to tell you a little more about what my next steps are going to be.
I asked God what He had for me. During my personal devotion time, soon after, I saw an image where I was serving in Port de Paix, Haiti. My DTS leaders are pioneering a campus there and so I asked God if becoming staff with YWAM Port de Paix was what he wanted me to do. I felt confirmation and so I applied for staff, and have been accepted!

We will be pioneering a new YWAM campus starting this fall! This is a great opportunity to use my talents and passion to serve in this new campus. Our vision and goal for the campus is to Be That Make, meaning that we are intentionally seeking to recreate the identity we have in Christ in others. For me to be a part of this new work I need to raise support.

You have been a part of my journey, even indirectly, and for this reason I’m asking if you would like to partner with me in this great opportunity. If you feel like God is calling you, would you consider praying about being a part of the team that permits me to live and work in the ministry reaching out to my generation, either in prayer or financially? I would love to give you this opportunity to be used by God to help reach this generation too. That the hunger for connection and relationship that these youth have can be satisfied in God. A verse that I love a lot and that encourages me whenever I don’t know what to do is Proverbs 19:20.

God bless you in whatever He calls you to do! Please let me know if you have any questions, and I look forward to hearing back from you!

DTS Update

Hello everyone!!

Today I want to share with all of you about the lecture phase of my DTS (Discipleship Training School). In that Very first week God started moving and working in my life.At that time I did not know all the things God was preparing me to for in the upcoming weeks ahead.

During the first few weeks the storm started in the country. We were in the midst "peyi locked" the English translation "locked country". Basically this means that that all of Haiti and the people were in complete chaos, and that made the country shut down. Roads were blocked, protests were happening in every city,  resources were hard to find, etc, it was crazy. This effected our DTS as for a few weeks we were not able to fly our teachers. However God is faithful to provide and know what we need before we need it. In creole we have a saying: "degage"  the English translation "make it work" and with God's help that exactly what we did! We did something a bit crazy and skyped in our teachers. We had to do that for two weeks of our classes, it made learning a bit more of a challenge, but God is faithful and I still learned a lot.

The 3 months I spent in the classroom learning Jesus rocked my faith. We had a new topic each week but today I will share a bit about just two of them. Plumbline was the hardest but at the same time it was the most life changing and fruitful for me. In plumblide we spent a lot of time in the book Neimiah talking abut the wall he built and the plmbline he used to make it straight. We learned aout true forgiveness and healing and what effects they have on our life when we walk in them. During this week you are basically broken down and bring to life any past hurt and sin before the Lord, asking Him to heal you from it. I can say that it was definitely a difficult experience to go back into my past and revisit some of my old wounds. However, after laying them down truly before the Lord I feel like I have true freedom in Christ.

Holy Spirit week was my favorite week. This week in the DTS I got to see the power of the Spirit inside me! I got to dig deep into the scriptures and what they have to teach us about the Spirit. We learned about spiritual gifts and spent time seeking God on how He gifted each one of us. After that how we can walk in our giftings to bring glory to God and bless His people. Side note: later in my DTS on outreach I got to teach a small group on the topic of the Holy Spirit, but that is a whole story for another time.

I will write just a little bit of how outreach impacted me. During Outreach God was faithful in telling me over and over my purpose. As I took steps of faith satan came running to try to stop me from walking in obdence. Thank you Jesus that when satan tried to tare me down, God came over like a crashing wave reminding me to never give up and to stay brave.

Most of the time on our outreach we spent in St. Marc, however we did venture out to Gervais and Port De Paix. Wow, I can say I have so many stories on how God moved in each of those places! So many people gave their lives to Christ. We served the cities, youth, families, children, etc. God you are amazing!

That is all I will share for now, but stay tuned to hear more outreach stories and to hear where God has called me next!
